Biomarker of several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); fatty liver disease (multiple); obesity; prediabetes syndrome; and transient cerebral ischemia. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease; Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2A2A; Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2A2B; and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 6.
