Located in cytosol; mitochondrion; and nucleus. Used to study autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease; hypertension; impotence; myocardial infarction; and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Biomarker of several diseases, including brain ischemia; colon cancer; diabetic retinopathy; type 2 diabetes mellitus; and ureteral obstruction. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including Cowden syndrome 6; breast cancer (multiple); lung disease (multiple); pancreatic cancer (multiple); and reproductive organ cancer (multiple).
